School Lessons

Music and Me have been offering heavily subsidised music lessons at RPIS since 2010, offering pupils from Reception to Year 2, a great start to their musical journey. During their lunch hour, the pupils are taught the basics of notation (sight-reading) and once sight-reading is grasped in theory, they learn how to play primary pieces on a keyboard/piano.

The lessons are fun, varied and educational. They include musical-themed quizzes, treasure hunts, bake offs, after-school workshops, flash-card games and even composing their own pieces in the school's IT suite. The lessons are carefully planned to be great fun but they are also tailored to their age and ability. The pupils enjoy trying their newly learnt pieces on other instruments like the Ukulele and Steel Pan Drums. All the children work towards an exciting concert performance each Christmas and Summer term for their families and friends to enjoy.

Lessons are taught in very small groups of similar age and ability. By the end of Year 2, many pupils reach the required standard to sit the ABRSM 'Prep Test' at an approved ABRSM exam centre, a fantastic achievement for a 6/7 year--old, and a really rewarding experience to remember for years to come.

Lesson fees are spread equally into 12 monthly payments, that commence on 1st August to 1st July inc.

Fully funded 'Pupil Premium' places can be applied for via the school office, if the usual qualifying criteria is met.

If you have recently received confirmation that a place is available, then please note you will need to send a £25.00 deposit to secure it within 7 days.

That payment not only secures your child's place, but also pays for your child's fun starter pack. Visit our FAQ page for payment information.

We are now only taking reservations for places commencing September 2021.  Please note - places are now very limited.

The RPIS school office do not deal with bookings, deposits or enquiries for our music lessons. Please CONTACT US to send your enquiry.
