School Lessons

Since 2010, Music and Me have been offering heavily subsidised music lessons at RPIS, offering pupils from Reception to Year 2 a great start to their musical journey. During their lunch hour, the children learn music in a variety of fun modules, including learning the basics of notation (sight-reading) and music theory.

The lessons are fun, varied and educational. They include musical-themed quizzes, treasure hunts, bake offs, after-school workshops, flash-card games and even composing their own pieces in the school's IT suite. The lessons are carefully planned to be great fun but they are also tailored to their age and ability. The pupils enjoy trying their newly learnt pieces on other instruments like the Ukulele and Steel Pan Drums.

All the children work towards an exciting concert performance each Christmas and Summer term for their families and friends to enjoy.

Please note : RPIS school office do not deal with bookings, deposits or enquiries for our music lessons.  Please CONTACT US with your enquiry.

We are now only taking reservations for places commencing September 2021.  Please note  - available places are limited.

By the end of Year 2, many pupils reach the required standard to sit the ABRSM Prep Test at an approved ABRSM exam centre.

A fantastic achievement for a 6 - 7 year--old and a really rewarding experience to remember for years to come.

FEES - Music lesson fees for the academic year are spread equally into 12 monthly payments which commence on 1st August to 1st July (inc).

Pupil Premium places can be applied for via the school office if the usual qualifying criteria is met.

DEPOSITS - If you have recently received confirmation that a place is available you need to send a £25.00 deposit to secure it within 7 days

That payment not only secures your child's place, but also pays for your child's music starter pack.

Music and Me was founded in 2010 by Kirsty Andrew, to offer subsidised music tuition to U16's in Wargrave, Berkshire.

A Young Musician's Bursary was established using funds raised by Wargrave's Community Choir, which Kirsty formed in 2017.

Applications for our Young Musician's Bursary are received directly from a number of sources including; Wokingham's Social Care Services, local schools and directly from parents/carers.  We aim to provide subsidised music lessons and theory tuition, supply musical instruments, music books and accessories, as well as fun educational music workshops for all ages to enjoy.

New applications for an U16's Young Musician's Bursary are welcome every June, which if granted, commence the following September.

Please contact us for further details on the bursary's eligibility criteria and application process. Every application is carefully considered.

Our aim is to provide high quality, fun and affordable music lessons to everyone by offering flexible instalment payment options and / or subsidised music tuition*. (*an eligibility criteria applies for bursary support).

For paying pupils, we can accept payment by Standing Order.  Please visit our Payment Information page).
